  • Regular Monthly Meeting of the Ray County Library Board of Trustees. 


ADULT PROGRAMS

January 9th, 2020 @ 5:00-6:00  pm       Creating Memories: Scrapbook Program
  • Scrapbookers wanted! Please come join us and learn to create and save your special memories at our scrapbooking program. Have a project you are already working on or memories you have been meaning to document? We will provide supplies, but feel free to bring your own! This is an adult program for individuals 18 years or older. 

January 9th & 23rd, 2020 @ 4:00-6:00 pm     Knitting and Crocheting Group
  • The Knitting and Crocheting Group will be here in our Community Room. This is an adult program for individuals 18 years or older. 

January 16th, 2020 @ 10:00-11:00 am      Health as a Whole Program
  •  Join Registered Nurse Lacey Sullenger, for health education and conversation in the Library’s Community Room.     

January 16th, 2020 @ 5:00-6:00 pm      Craft Night Program
  • Join us for a craft activity; no crafting experience required. We will be creating items to help you get organized for the new year!  Stop by the Ray County Library Information Desk or call to sign up! Space is limited. This is an adult program for individuals 18 years or older. 

​January 22nd, 2020 @ 12:00-1:00 pm     Choose Your Own Book Group
  • ADULT BOOK CLUB: THE “CHOOSE YOUR OWN” BOOK CLUB IS SEEKING NEW MEMBERS! Do you enjoy reading and discussing books, but prefer to make your own book selections? This month, come ready to discuss a book you have chosen! We welcome everyone to come to try this unique book club. 

January 23rd, 2020 @ 5:30-6:30 pm     Genealogy Night Program
  • Come and join us for Genealogy Night! We will provide an introduction to the Library’s genealogy resources while helping you start your very own journey back in time through family history. The library provides free access to Ancestry.com, so please do not miss out on this opportunity to use this program at no cost to you!

We develop early literacy skills with storytelling, activities, music, crafts, and much more.

Tuesdays @ 4:00 pm - 5:00pm
Best for ages 6-12, but all are welcome!
Come join us for fun literacy-based activities, stories, games, and much more.
 
Teen Time
Wednesdays @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
For ages 12 – 18 only!
Come engage with other teens and enjoy a variety of fun activities.​

FREE Genealogy Assistance 
  • Do you need help with family history research?  The Ray County Library offers a unique opportunity for genealogy seekers.  We have 100+ rolls of film that contain local information. We would like to help connect local people with the past. Call for more information 816-776-5104.

Homebound Outreach
  • Books, audiobooks on CD, and DVDs can be delivered to patrons who are unable to come to the library due to health or disability.  We provide this service both to individual patrons and senior care facilities.  Homebound outreach services vary depending on the needs of each individual and organization.  Participants of this service will receive high-level readers advisory service, in which the library staff will gain an understanding of the reader’s preferences and make sure to select items that are specific to their needs.  Please call us at 816-776-5104 to enroll or find out more about this service. 

The Ray County Library’s Reserve a Librarian

  • The Reserve-a-Librarian service allows you to spend a 30-minute session with a librarian who can offer assistance tailored to your needs. This will allow you to reserve a librarian for an uninterrupted one-on-one, face to face, 30-minute session. This service requires 3-day advance notice and requests for specific times are dependent on staff availability. Appointments are limited to 30 minutes in length to allow staff to serve the greatest number of residents. To set up a convenient time please contact us at 816-776-5104.
